FDMH practices with fire
May 16th was a rare day for Mount Horeb Fire Department. A donated farm house on HWY JJ in the Town of Vermont offered the opportunity to practice teamwork, hose movement and fire attack in real life situations. Overseen by Madison Area Technical College, the Black Earth and Mount Horeb Fire Departments worked together to start and extinguish nearly 30 fires in multiple parts of the house. Before the end of the day, the donated house was fully burned to the ground. Also placed into service were the new MSA G1 air packs, recently secured by the department, allowing members to get familiar with the new equipment in hot and smokey conditions.
